Week 1: Virtual

Day 1 -Create an Outstanding Written Application

Participants will be guided on how to write an impressive CV and cover letter that matches the job description. They will be introduced to useful words and phrases to enhance their application material, tips on making application content concise, formal writing style, as well as the PAR system to allow them to showcase their skills in concrete terms.

Participants will also receive 2 assignments, giving them the opportunity to implement what they have learnt by creating or editing their own CV and example cover letter.

Approach your Job Interviews with Confidence

By integrating the vocabulary from Day 1 and the PAR system into their interview answers, participants will feel confident that they are able to respond to common interview questions with concrete evidence of their personal qualities, skills and knowledge to convince the employer of their value. They will be introduced to expressions that will help them structure their answers coherently so that they feel well prepared for future job interviews.

The training will consist of a pre-sessional video with slides, plus an assignment to help them prepare for the live session. Participants will then be given the opportunity to ask questions in breakout rooms. This will allow them to stimulate an interview scenario in English for them to receive feedback before the real event.

Week 2: Practical

  • The self study materials will be accessible 1 week before the live session

  • 2 live session times will be available to accommodate different time zones, each lasting 90 minutes

Live Session: 22nd January at 2pm (GMT)
